UN Global Forum on Migration and Development.

Yesterday (May 14th) Crown Princess Victoria participated on the UN Global Forum on Migration and Development in Stockholm. Initially, the Crown Princess welcomed UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon. The meeting was also attended by, among others, Peter Sutherland
The Swedish Minister of Migration Tobias Billström and Minister of Cooperation Hillevi Engström welcomed over 900 participants. Subsequently the Crown Princess gave the inaugural speech. 
The Crown Princess talked about the importance of building a society where everyone can contribute and feel included and respected. Crown Princess Victoria also addressed how much of Sweden's prosperity has been built up over the centuries by migration, from the Walloons in the 1600's to all those who moved to Sweden, starting from the 1950s onwards from Finland and southern Europe and helped build the Swedish industry.
