Prince Daniel Visits The Center for Molecular Medicine

Monday April 31st Prince Daniel visited The Center for Molecular Medicine (CMM) at the Karolinska University Hospital in Solna.

The visit began with CMM Chairman Liselotte Jansson speaking about CMM and its activities. Then director, Professor Lars Klareskog gave a speech on lifestyle, genes, and the possibilities of preventing arthritis and other inflammatory diseases.

Doctor Magnus Bäck and Professor Göran K. Hansson told Prince Daniel about why the inflammation occurs in the blood vessels and how can you prevent that inflammation leads to including heart attack and stroke.

Last, Professor Ingrid Lundberg and researcher Helene Alexandersson explained physical exercise and its effects on rheumatic diseases, MS and cardiovascular disease to Prince Daniel.

Visit ended with The Prince got the opportunity to visit the research environment where, among other things, studies the effects of physical exercise on inflammatory diseases, including / such as rheumatism.
