King Carl XVI Gustaf's 70th Birthday.

On 30 April, King Carl XVI Gustaf celebrated his 70th Birthday, the festivities started with a Te Deum at the Royal Chapel in Stockholm.
Among foreign royal guests were King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia of Spain, Princess Takamado of Japan, Queen Margrethe II of Denmark and Prince Albert II.


All the Swedish Royal Family attended the ceremony, including Princess Estelle.


After the TeDeum, all the royal guests were joined by Princess Beatrix of the Netherlands, Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark and Princess Märtha-Louise of Norway and husband Ari Behn for the Armed Forces celebration for the King at the Palace's Courtyard.


When the Armed Forces and changing of the guard ended, everyone headed to the Palace's balcony where a chorus sang to King Carl Gustaf. This time the family was joined by almost 2-month-old Prince Oscar, who was making his balcony debut.


To finish with the day celebrations, the city of Stockholm offered a lunch for everyone at the City Hall. The King and Queen arrived by carriage. Princess Sofia didn't attend the lunch as she returned home to be with Prince Alexander.


In the afternoon, a banquet was held for all the guests.

Mexican State Visit to Denmark: State Banquet.

To end the first day of the State Visit, Queen Margrethe hosted a gala dinner at Fredensborg Palace for the Mexican President.


All members of the Royal family were seen wearing the Order of the Aztec Eagle, while the President wore the Order of the Elephant and his wife wore the Order of the Dannebrog.

Mexican State Visit to Denmark: Welcome.

Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto and his wife Angélica Rivera arrived to Copenhaguen today to begin the first ever State Visit to Denmark made by a Mexican President.
The couple was recieved by the Danish Royal Family at the Vilhen Lauritzen terminal of Copenhagen Airport.

Queen Margrethe and President Peña Nieto revised the guards of honor and introduced their respecting comitees.
After their arrival, the Presidential couple along the Royal couple took off to Fredensborg Palace where the official welcome ceremony was held.

President Peña Nieto also held a reunion with the Queen and they exchanged gifts.

Summer Cruise in Odense.

The Regent Couple continued with their Summer Cruise and the next stop was Odense on 19 June. Summer cruises in Odense. At the entrance to Odense Fjord, the Dannebrog crossed the newly opened swing bridge Odin's Bridge. When passing, they were saluted by Odense United Shooting Society.

The royal couple arrived on the Royal Yacht Dannebrog to Odense Harbour, Eastern Wharf, at. 10:00, where they were recieved by the civil service director Lisa Haxgart that presents Mayor Anker Boye. After the welcome, the Royal Couple headed to the Odense City Hall, and were received by Mayor Anker Boye and 1st Deputy Mayor Brian Dybro.

At Odense City Hall an official reception was held in the Town Hall, The Royal Couple visited Art Brandts and inspected the exhibition "TATOO - from naval heroes to the world of art". The exhibition will include an image of King Frederik IX.

The royal couple then visited robot company Universal Robots. The company develops robot arms, which among other automate repetitive processes in industry.

The Queen visited The red Infos established where urban revitalization of Odense city center takes place. The Queen also visited the city museum Møntergården who in 2013 underwent a major renovation. During the visit, the Queen was presented with Coins farm's new exhibition building.

Meanwhile, the Prince Consort visited the Church Army shelter in East Street, which opened in 2013. During his visit, the Prince Consort talked to the practice's users and was informed about the facilities. The Prince Consort also visited the Odense Marzipan and was shown around the company's production and packaging.

Then, the royal couple visited North Atlantic House at Port of Odense. Finally, the royal couple hosteda reception for invited guests on board the Royal Yacht.

Danish Royals in Tivoli.

On Monday, 16 June while Crown Princess Mary and her two oldest children were at a One Direction concert, in Tivoli, while the tourists were busy with their smartphones, suddenly first the Queen and shortly after Prince Joachim, Princess Marie and the three princes Nikolai, Felix and little Henrik and appeared in prior to the premiere of The Steadfast Tin Soldier ballet. The Queen created the stage design.

Although it was not the first time that H. C. Andersen's famous fairy tale was listed as ballet, it was actually the first time that Prince Joachim and his family went to see the show.

Summer Cruise in Aalborg.

Queen Margrethe and Prince Henrik are officially on their annual summer cruise around Denmark on board the royal yacht Dannebrog on 18-20th June. Their first stop was Aalborg on 18 June.

The royal couple were received by, among others, civil service director Lisa Haxgart and Mayor Thomas Kastrup-Larsen.

The royal couple were driven to the City Hall on a coach, accompanied by Mayor Thomas Kastrup-Larsen and his wife. At their arrival to the City Hall, a reception was held.

After the reception on the City Hall, the Royal Couple visited Boligforeningen Himmerlands new construction, Waterfront Larsen, with 254 new student accommodation.

Among other things, the Couple visited the Culture Nordkraft where they were shown experiments. After that, the Queen visited the Music House and a Childcare Center. Meanwhile, Prince Henrik visited Siemens Wind Power and he was introduced to some of its products, including a 75 meter long wind turbine blade.

After his visit at Siemens Wind Power, the Prince Consort visited the Weber Stephen Nordic company, which since 1990 has had a Nordic headquarters in Nørresundby. During the visit, Prince Consort was presented with barbecues and barbecue techniques.

In the afternoon, the Royal Couple visited Future Nursing, which opened in January 2014. Tomorrow Nursing homes are built to the municipality's vision for the future care of the elderly.

Prince Henrik's 80th Birthday.

Tillykke! Prince Consort Henrik's birthday is today and he turns 80! Lots of events were held since the begining of June including a Gala Concert at DR Koncerthuset and a Reception at the Orangery of Fredensborg Palace.

Today the entire Royal Family gathered at the Chateau de Cayx in France for a photo op and a rather small press conference.
The best is to be with the whole family - and the weather, said Prince Henrik, he also said that the family has been singing the birthday song to him.
Later, the day was celebrated with a glass of wine in the company of a bunch of Danish tourists.

Queen Margrethe in France for D-Day Commemorations

Queen Margrethe was one of the numerous Heads of State that are currently in France to commemorate the 70th Anniversary of D-Day.

Off Utah Beach on June 6, 1944 31 ships of the Danish Merchant Navy supported the Allied landings. 70 years later, the Queen of Denmark and the French Minister of the Interior honored the 800 sailors who were aboard. Danish soldiers didn't land on Utah Beach. However, the only French monument that honors Denmark is on the way to the beach, theater D-Day in 1944.

Queen Margrethe paid tribute to the sailors on Thursday, June 6 at Sainte-Marie-du-Mont, accompanied by French Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve, former deputy mayor of Cherbourg. Both laid wreaths at the monument to the dead Danish, before going to the Utah Beach museum to visit an exhibition dedicated to the sailors.

Reception at Fredensborg Palace's Orangery.

On Wednesday, June 11th Prince Henrik will celebrate his 80th birthday with a private party in his second home, Chateau de Cayx in southern France.
The royal family has since Sunday been besides the Prince Consort, when he presented his new collection of poems, 'In my happy nights' at Fredensborg Castle.

Subsequently, he opened the special exhibition 'Prince Henrik of Denmark HRH Prince Consort 1934-2014' at Frederiksborg Castle, and Sunday a gala performance in the DR Concert Hall took place.
Today a reception at the Orangery at Fredensborg Palace took place, where several prominent guests came and wished the Prince Consort congratulations.

The Prince Consort arrived behind the wheel of a beautiful white golf cart with Queen Margrethe at his side, running through the beautiful entrance to the castle, while the guardsmen played fanfare and guests applauded.
Earlier in the day Prince Henrik presented awards from the Prince Consort's Fund, as it happens at Fredensborg Palace.

Concert for Prince Henrik's 80th Birthday.

This 11 June, Prince Henrik turns 80 years and the celebrations continued today when a concert was held specially for the ocassion at DR's Koncerhuset.

Among the guests were Queen Margrethe, Prince Henrik, Crown Prince Frederik, Crown Princess Mary, Prince Christian, Princess Isabella, Princess Marie, Prince Nikolai, Prince Felix, Countess Alexandra of Frederiksborg, Queen Anne-Marie of Greece, King Constantine of Greece and representatives from the official Denmark such as Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt.

At their arrival many of the guests were asked by BT to describe Prince Henrik. Countess Alexandra described him as a "Great Prince Consort, great grandpapa and a great person".

Prince Henrik Presents New Poetry Collection.

HRH Prince Henrik presented his new poetry collection "Dance mes Nuits sereines - I mine lykkelige Nætter" at Fredensborg Palace. The Queen was also present at the presentation of the Prince Consort's new collection of poems.

During the presentation, the Prince read three of the new poems in French, while actor Thure Lindhardt read the poems in Danish.
