Queen Margrethe and Prince Henrik on board of the Dannebrog.

On May 7, 2014 the Royal Couple officially went on board of the Royal Yacht Dannebrog and thus marked the beginning of a new season of royal visits throughout Denmark.

The Royal Couple officially went on board the Royal Yacht at Buoy 1 in the harbor, with a salute from Battery Sixtus at noon. There was a subsequent departure to Elsinore with a salute from Kronborg Castle.

Every year the royal couple's cruise on the Dannebrog comes with visits to various parts of the country. The tradition of Dannebrog cruises started 80 years ago with King Christian X, who was the first king that made ​​annual trips in Danish waters as a regular part of his program.
