King Harald attended the commemoration of Liberation Day and National Veteran Day.

Liberation Day has traditionally been a day where Norway honors their war heroes from World War II. In 2010 Parliament decided that May 8 mark should be expanded to be a national veterandag.

The day is marked with a series of events across the country, as well as a national celebration of the Akershus Fortress. Today attended both King Harold, Parliamentary president, prime minister and defense minister in the ceremony.
