Princess Leonore of Sweden was Christened today at 12 o'clock at Drottningholm Palace's Chapel. The little Princess was born in New York on February 20th.
Princess Leonore was dressed in the Bernadotte Christening gown. The gown, which was last worn by Princess Estelle in 2012 has been worn by four generations of Swedish royals. The first person to be baptised in the robe was King Carl Gustaf’s father, Prince Gustaf Adolf, who was christened in 1906. Queen Ingrid, King Carl Gustaf and his three children have all been baptised wearing the gown and to mark this, their names have been stitched into the lining.
The ceremony was conducted by Archbishop Anders Wejryd, who was assisted by royal court priest, Lars-Göran Lönnermark, and pastor Michael Bjerkhagen, who conducted the wedding of Princess Madeleine and Christoper O’Neill last year.
