Official Visit to Greenland - Nuuk.

On 7 August, the Crown Prince Family arrived to Nuuk - the capital of Greenland. The same day, the Crown Prince and Crown Princess attended an official dinner held on their honor at he Hans Egede Hotel. The Crown Prince gave a speech.

The next day, Crown Prince Frederik, Crown Princess Mary, Prince Christian and Princess Isabella dressed in National costumes again, was recieved by locals.

Later in the day, they visited the country's council.

During their visit to the Council, chairman Lars Emil Johansen presented a gift. Crown Princess Mary then visited the MIO children institute where Kammagiitta - the Greenlandic name of Mary Fonden's Fri For Mobberi - is used.

The twins joined the family as they headed to Katuaq where they enjoyed Kaffemik.

The Crown Prince Couple then visited the Arctic Command.

The visit ended officially when the Crown Prince Couple along with Prince Minik and Princess Ivalo attended a reception of the Ivalo & Minik Foundation.

Official visit to Greenland - Qaqortoq, Paamiut and Qeqertarsuatsiaat.

On their third day in Greenland, the Crown Prince Family visited Qaqortoq wearing Greenlandic national costumes. Prince Christian and Crown Prince Frederik wore the standard national costume for men, Princess Isabella wore the newer version of the East Greenlandic Kalaallisut and her hair was also made in the East Greenlandic style. Prince Minik and Princess Ivalo wore variations of the national costume - Prince Minik wore a pair of polar bear trousers while Princess Ivalo wore sealskin kamiks. Crown Princess Mary wore the traditional West Greenlandic Kalaallisut.

During their visit, the family participated planting trees at the Ivalo and Minik poplar grove. Among other activities, Crown Princess Mary visited the Neriusaaq shelter and the Inneriilat kindergarten while the Crown Prince visited the Avataq fish factory and the Sulisartut Højskoliat school. The family also visited Great Greenland.

In the afternoon, the Crown Prince Couple and Prince Christian attended a children's football match where Prince Christian participated and the royal couple recieved jerseys for their children.

Paamiut.

On the fourth day, the Crown Prince Family arrived to Paamiut at 12:00 and were greeted by locals.

The family then headed to the Family centre and prevention office of Paamiut where they were welcomed by mothers and their children.

Then, the family headed to“Lufthavssøen” (“the airport sea”). And were shown with pedal boats.

The last engagement was a children's relay race where Prince Christian participated along local children. An aereal photo of the Crown Prince Family and the children who attended the race standing in a heart formation and waving to the camera was taken.

Qeqertarsuatsiaat.

Day 5 started when the Dannebrog went ashore at 9:00am. The family walked to the Telehuset viewpoint together with local people. During the walk, Prince Minik and Princess Ivalo with the help of their father, unveiled a plaque that commemorates the visit to Greenland. After the walk, the family headed to the Amauligaq care centre.

The royal couple enjoyed refreshments with locals afterwards and finally visited the Amitsialak workroom.

Official visit to Greenland - Narsaq, Alluitsup Paa and Nanotarlik.

On the first day of the visit, after the family's tour of Igaliko, the royal yacht sailed to Narsaq. Crown Princess Mary visited the culture house while Crown Prince Frederik visited the slaughterhouse Neqi.

Among the places they visited were Narsaq's art workshop, the INUILLI School of Food and Nutrition (the oly one in Greenland), the Narsaq museum and a retirement home where the couple talked with the residents.

Alluitsup Paa.

On day 2, Prince Christian and his parents arrived by boat in the small village of Alluitsup Paa as the rest of the kids stayed on the Dannebrog.

While in Alluitsup Paa, Prince Christian, Crown Princess Mary and Crown Prince Frederik visited a church and a kindergarten, before stopping by the village’s sports centre, where they enjoyed “Kaffemik”. The word “kaffemik” is a mix of Greenlandic and Danish and is best translated as “coffee time”.

It was the first time Prince Christian took part in an event like this.

Nanotarlik.

Day 2 ended with a visit to Nanotarlik, the Crown Prince Couple enjoyed Kaffemik with locals and were later joined by their 4 kids to visit the Nanotarlik open-air museum, the Pilutaq shelter and Sekskanten school. They were later given a tour of Nanotarlik by car.

Official visit to Greenland - Igaliko.

Prince Christian led the way, when he and his three younger siblings and the crown prince couple began their 8-day Greenland expedition. It is the first time that the couple is visiting the country with all their four children.

The trip includes visits to nine cities and it initiated in South Greenland, where the family visited Igaliku.
When the family arrived at Igaliku -that only has about 30 inhabitants-, they were received with both singing and gifts. All four children were each given their warm Greenland sweater before Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary with the children moved on to the village's Norse ruins.

The Crown Prince and the Royal Family have always had a close relationship with Greenland. For example, the royal couple decided to give their twins Greenlandic middle names and were named Vincent Frederik Minik Alexander and Josephine Sophia Ivalo Mathilda.

1 August 2014: Igaliko

09.20-09.30: Official welcome in Igaliko.
09.40: Inspection of the Norse ruins.
10.15: “Bygdekaffe” (Igaliko is a “bygd” which is a village and “kaffe” is Danish for coffee).
10.55: Church visit. The Crown Princely couple will be shown a photo exhibition about Igaliko’s story.

1 August 2014: Narsaq

14.00-14.20: The Crown Princely couple arrives in Narsaq and go ashore.
14.35: The Crown Princess visits the Narsaq culture house. Meanwhile the Crown Prince visits the slaughterhouse Neqi A/S. 
15.10: Visit to the art workshop.
15.40: Visit to Greenland’s only School of Food and Nutrition, INUILI.
16.40: Visit to the Narsaq retirement home.
17.20: Visit to the Narsaq museum.
18.00-18.15: The Crown Princely couple departs Narsaq.

2 August 2014: Alluitsup Paa

09.00-09.15: The Crown Princely couple arrives in Alluitsup Paa and go ashore.
09.20: Visit to Alluitsup Paa’s new church.

11.00: Kaffemik in the hall. A “kaffemik” is a traditional Greenlandic social gathering where people relax and enjoy each others company. “Kaffemik” is Greenlandic for “coffee, please”.

12.00: The Crown Princely couple departs Alluitsup Paa.

2 August 2014: Nanortalik

16.00-16.20: The Crown Princely couple arrives in Nanortalik and go ashore.
16.25: Kaffemik.

18.00: Visit to the new school, Sekskanten.

12.00: The Crown Princely couple departs Qeqertarsuatsiaat.

Private 1,5 day off for the Crown Princely family.

19.00: Official dinner in Nuuk at Hans Egede Hotel. The guests arrive at 18.50, the Crown Princely couple arrives at 19.10.

8 August 2014: Nuuk

10.00: Arrival at the City Hall and visit to the City Council Chamber.
10.45: Walk to the Inatsisartut (the Parliament of Greenland).
11.00: Visit to the Inatsisartut Chamber.
11.30: Visit to the Naalakkersuisut (the home rule government).
12.00: Visit to the Institute of Nature.
12.30: Lunch.
13.30: Visit to the Volunteer Centre.
14.00: The Crown Prince is presented to the Arctic Winter Games.

Prince Joachim in Greenland.

On 25-27 March Prince Joachim was in Greenland to visit the Arctic Command and attended the board meeting of the Royal Greenlandic Fund in Nuuk.

On Wednesday 26 March, a board meeting of the Royal. Greenland Fund was held at the Arctic Command ship "Knud Rasmussen."
