Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary in Saudi Arabia: Day 3.

On their last day in Saudi Arabia, the Crown Prince Couple visited King Abdullah's Financial District, which is a new economic quarter in Riyadh and which the architectural firm Henning Larsen Architects stands behind. The Crown Prince Couple got a tour around the building site. The health minister and the business and growth minister also took part.

After the visit, the Couple split, Crown Prince Frederik and the minister for business and growth visited the King Abdullah Center for Science and Technology, which is an independent scientific organization. During the visit, The Crown Prince was be told about the challenges Saudi Arabia faces in the energy and environment sector.

Meanwhile, Crown Princess Mary and the health minister visited a playground and fitness area belonging to the Danish company Kompan. During the visit, The Crown Princess was shown various play and activity installations.

Afterwards, the Crown Prince Couple took part in a business luncheon at the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce & Industry. Then, along with the health minister and the business and growth minister, the couple participated in the opening of an event put on by the Danish institution Mercantec, which devotes itself to offering vocational education programmes. The objective of the event is to create relationships and share experiences so that, in the long term, vocational education programmes can be established in Saudi Arabia.
Later, the Crown Prince Couple, together with the health minister, visited the King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center, which is one of Saudi Arabia’s leading hospitals in the area of research.
Crown Princess Mary and the health minister visited the King Khalid Foundation afterwards, which is a Saudi charitable organization led by Princess Banderi bint Abdulrahman AlFaisal. The organization’s work focuses particularly on violence against women and children as well as combatting poverty.

To mark the ending of they staying in Saudi Arabia before leaving to Qatar, the Crown Prince Couple took part in a farewell reception at the Danish ambassador’s residence. The reception focused on Danish design, and both Danish and Saudi business guests participated.

Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary in Saudi Arabia: Day 2.

The Crown Prince Couple participated in the opening ceremony of the business promotional campaign, where approximately 300 persons took part, including the Danish business delegation and Saudi companies. The Crown Prince gave an speech and afterwards presided over the official opening of the campaign. After the official opening, the Crown Prince Couple met the participating Danish companies.

Afterwards, the Crown Prince Couple taook part in the WAX seminar, which broadened knowledge about Danish competencies and solutions in the area of water conservation. WAX (Water Alliance Exchange) is a cooperative effort among Danish companies in Saudi Arabia.
The crown Prince Couple visited Arla on the occasion of the company’s opening of a new warehouse in Saudi Arabia. At the business fair, the Crown Prince Couple opened a miniature version of the warehouse, which symbolizes the opening. In the miniature version of the warehouse, a number of Arla’s regional products will be exhibited.

The Crown Prince Couple took part in a business luncheon, which helped create relationships between Danish companies and Saudi business partners. During the luncheon, The Crown Prince presented HRH Prince Henrik’s Medal of Honour, which honours Danish companies and persons that have made great efforts in promoting Danish products abroad.

Afterwards, the Crown Prince Couple took part in a dinner to end the day. During the dinner Ambassador Ole Frijs-Madsen and the Minister for Health Sophie Løhde spoke.

Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary in Saudi Arabia: Day 1.

From 28 February to 1 March 2016, Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary will participate in a Danish business promotional campaign in Saudi Arabia's capital, Riyadh. Then, from 2 to 3 March 2016, the couple will visit Qatar's capital, Doha.
During the visit, the Crown Prince Couple will be accompanied by the Foreign Relations Minister, the Minister of Health and the Business and Growth Minister. The primary goal of the visit is to straighten the trade in the areas of sustainability, health, food products, education and design.
On the first day of visit, in the morning the Couple were given a sight-seeing tour of Riyadh, which included a tour of Ad'Diriyah, a historical city that has been an UNESCO World Heritage site since 2010.




The Crown Prince Couple had lunch with King Salman of Saudi Arabia and the Crown Prince had a private audience wit the King, during which they "reviewed bilateral relations and aspects of cooperation between the two countries."

In the evening, Crown Prince Frederik attended a dinner at the Danish embassy. Crown Princess Mary was also scheduled to attend the dinner, however, she recieved an invitation for dinner from Princess Latifa and Princess Al Jawhara, two of the King's sisters.
