Crown Princess Victoria in Tanzania


Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden has recently wrapped up her trip to Ghana and Tanzania in Africa from March 17th to 21st. After her two days in Ghana Victoria spent three days in Tanzania. As soon as she arrived in Tanzania The Crown Princess and Trade Minister Ewa Bjorling has a meeting with Tanzanian Foreign Minister Bernard Membe to discuss trade with Sweden and Tanzania

Victoria's First evening in Tanzania ended with a dinner at the Swedish Embassy hosted by Swedish Ambassador Lennarth Hjelmåker. Amoung the invited guests were Tanzanian Ministers and Agency heads as well as representatives of Swedish ICT and Energy Companies in Tanzania.

Crown Princess Victoria's second day in Tanzania began at the Tanzania Investment Centre (TIC) where Crown Princess and Trade Ewa Björling participated in a meeting with, among others, Juliet Kariuki, head TIC, Trade Minister Abdallah Kigoda and investment minister Mary Nagu. The meeting discussed Tanzania's trade policy and business climate and Swedish companies.

Next Victoria vistited WaterAid's activities in Kigamboni outside Dar es Salaam. Crown Princess Victoria and her husband Prince Daniel are patrons for the charity.

The evening ended with another reception at the Swedish Residence for Swedish and Tanzanian business leaders, government officials and agency heads. During the evening the WWF Jihdepris to the organization Mjumita working to preserve forests.

On Crown Princess Victoria's last day in Tanzania she visited the hospital CCBRT, Comprehensive Community Based Rehabilitation. CCBRT started as an eye hospital but works with comprehensive care and support to people with disabilities, the hospital also conducts maternal and infant health care.

Lastly The Crown Princess went back to the Swedish Embassy for a seminar on young entrepreneurship. Tanzanian entrepreneurs, inspiration and youth organizations provided feedback on what changes need to for more young entrepreneurs to succeed. Among other things, described the organizations Femina Hip and Restless Development how they work to encourage young entrepreneurship.

Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit in Vietnam - Day 2.

The day started in Hanoi, where Their Royal Highnesses The Crown Prince and Crown Princess took a visit to Vietnam's President , HE Mr. Truong Tan Sang . The President asked the Crown Prince Couple to give greetings to King Harald and Queen Sonja , who made ​​a State visit to Vietnam in 2004.

After meeting with the president , the Royal copuple traveled to continue in Hue . The city is considered Vietnam's cultural capital , and several of the city's temples, mausoleums and paodas are inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

 One of these is the city's Citadel , and the Crown Prince and Crown Princess met representatives of the local government - the People's Committee of Hue . Committee underlined the importance of cooperation with Norwegian organizations for decades.

Norwegian organizations have been present in Hue for years. Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette - Marit visited Huong An Secondary School in the afternoon , and projects run by Norwegian Church Aid , Norwegian People's Aid and Football for all .

 The royal couple were given a briefing on the work NPA doing in Vietnam. They are active in several parts of the country, mapping , marking and removing mines . The mines detonated under controlled conditions so that roads and farmland is again safe. The Crown Prince and Crown Princess got even detonate a cluster bomb under the current demonstration.

 One of the projects NPA is engaged in in collaboration with Football for all .

Football for all works with children and young people in Hue - and their engagement is broader than the name would suggest. Organized by the interest in football, children learn also about democracy and cooperation , hygiene , HIV / AIDS and other important issues .

 Together with Norwegian People's Aid , the Football for all its own demining project that saves child's play by cleaning playgrounds and soccer fields for mines and cluster bombs.

 Yesterday the Crown Prince Couple kicked off a football game on Huong An. They also got to talk to children , parents and teachers about the project.

Vietnam makes climate change impacts greatly. Heavy rains , typhoons and flooding are affecting more and more often , and the average drown ten children each and every day as a result. Norwegian Church Aid has taken account of the situation , and runs swimming lessons for children in Hue .

 Hundreds of children with Vietnamese and Norwegian flags met Royal couple when they came to learn more about the project . The children demonstrated training and swimming exercises on land and in the river close by.

Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit in Vietnam - Day 3.


The last day of the Crown Prince Couple's visit to Vietnam took place in Ho Chi Minh City. The Crown Prince and Crown Princess met with the leader of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, Le Hoang Quan, today.

Crown Prince Haakon started the day meeting on negotiations in progress on a free trade agreement between Vietnam and EFTA countries . According to the plan , the proceedings will be completed during the year , and be a positive contribution to further growth in business relations between Norway and Vietnam.
The Norwegian Veritas - DNV GL opened new offices in Bitexco Tower today . Crown Prince Haakon attended the opening along with Industry Minister Monica Maeland , who also made ​​a speech for the occasion .

 DNV GL is well established in Vietnam, including several shipyards. They have about 60 employees in Vung Tau and Ho Chi Minh and see good opportunities for expansion - particularly in the oil and gas sector . With these new offices collect DNV GL its various initiatives in the area under the same roof .

The royal couple also had the opportunity to visit the Reunification Palace - a landmark in Ho Chi Minh City . It was here that South Vietnam's presidents had their seat , and where a tank on the morning of 30 April 1975 broke down the main gate - and marked the end of the Vietnam War.

The royal couple joined the business delegations to lunch. There has been a lot of valuable contacts between representatives of Norwegian and Vietnamese businesses these days , which Crown Prince emphasized in his speech :
- Starting in the political capital of Hanoi, and moving on to the cultural capital of Hue , we will end our visit in what is often described as Vietnam 's commercial capital - Ho Chi Minh City. Business partners from our two countries are sharing tables and exploring options for deepened Cooperation and partnerships . ( ...)
This visit has given Norwegian companies a wonderful opportunity to share experiences and engage with Vietnamese businesses - forming new partnerships in one of the most promising markets in Asia.
The royal couple ended Vietnam journey to visit two Norwegian companies established in the Mekong Delta. EWOS deliver feed to local farms, while Pharmaq including producing vaccines for farmed fish.
Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette - Marit had met the staff during the tour of the facilities and also got to try out the vaccination of fish.

Crown Princess Victoria in Ghana.

The Swedish Minister for Trade and Crown Princess Victoria are on a promotional trip to Ghana and Tanzania this week. The purpose of the visit is to further deepen the bilateral relations with Ghana and Tanzania, and to increase trade with both countries. Crown Princess Victoria and the Minister will meet the President and Minister for Trade of each country.

Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit in Vietnam - Day 1.

Yesterday Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit arrived to Hanoi for a 3-day official visit.


Today the visit officially began when the Crown Prince Couple were given a tour to the Temple of Literature.




At the end of the day the Couple attended a dinner.

Turkish State Visit to Denmark - Day 2.

On the second and last day of the Turkish State Visit to Denmark, Crown Princess Mary and the First Lady had a lunch at Frederik VIII's Palace in Amalienborg (The Crown Prince Family's home)



After the lunch, they visited Danner Women Shelter. Danner is one of several shelters where Mary Foundation has launched the backpacks to children in shelters.




Meanwhile, the President had a meeting with Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt at Christiansborg Palace.


Finally at night the President hosted a Dinner at the Hotel D'Angleterre for the Queen and the Royal Family. There was also a Turkish Music concert.

Turkish State Visit to Denmark - Day 1.

Busy day for the Danes! As today they recieved HE The President of Turkey and his wife, who are starting a two-day state visit to Denmark.
The morning started when they recieved the Presidential couple at Copenhagen Airport.

Then they departed from the Airport, the Regent couple and the Presidential couple were scorted by the regiments horse squadron to Christian IX's Palace in Amalienborg for the official welcome.

After the welcome, Crown Prince Frederik and the President visited the Comission of Danish Industries, the House of Green and Moller Maersk.


To end the day, Queen Margrethe held a Dinner at Amalienborg. Both heads of state gave speeches.

Princess Marie in Slagelse.

On 14 March Princess Marie along with the Minister of Education visited the Sydbyen Daycare Facility where she was presented on how young children use their bodies and develop their senses through song and movement apps on tablets.



After the visit at the child care center Sydbyen, Princess and the Minister of Education visited Antvorskov School. Here, The Princess and the Minister were presented with the school's work with their creative learning EduTechLab and school projects that are part of the talent competition "Young Scientists".

King Harald holds audience with children.

King Harald recieved children from Kapellveien kindergarten at the Royal Palace in Oslo on 14 March.
The children were received by the King at the Ministers lounge. Then, the children proposed their own constitution and it was submitted on the charts, and King Harald heard about the various paragraphs and thoughts behind.

The young guests were also served during the visit, with juice and buns from the palace’s own kitchen.
