Gala at the Opera House in Copenhagen.

Its been 200 years since Denmark had to cede Norway to Sweden, and a national community of over 400 years long was broken. The close affinity between Denmark and Norway has continued, although the national ties were severed in 1814. Consequently, it is not the divorce but the common story and the common values ​​that are at the center of celebrations in Denmark.

Anniversary events organized by, among others, the Parliament, the Royal Library, the Foundation for Danish-Norwegian cooperation and universities in Denmark. Now the celebration culminates with the Norwegian Community gala week in Copenhagen from 17 to 24 May.

Queen Sonja and Crown Prince Haakon attended the gala performance "Two countries - one story» at the Opera House in Copenhagen. The show is an anniversary gift from the Danish government and parliament.

Queen Sonja arrived at the Opera with the Danish Regent Couple. Along with Queen Margrethe and Prince Henrik, Queen Sonja took her place in the royal box, where they were joined by Crown Prince Haakon, Danish Crown Prince and Princess, Prince Joachim and Princess Marie and Princess Benedikte.
