The welcoming ceremony began at 10:00 am, when President Peres arrived at the Palace Square accompanied by Crown Prince Haakon. The Israeli and the Norwegian national anthem were played before President Shimon Peres inspected the Guard of Honour. King Harald presented the representatives of the official Norway to the president, until they went together into the castle's main gate.
The Official photos and the gift exchange took place inside the Palace. The photos were taken per tradition in the Bird Room, where both the Crown Prince, Crown Princess Princess and Princess Astrid, Mrs Ferner, participated. President Peres met the press before he and the King traveled together to Akershus Fortress.
