Danish State Visit to China - Days 3 to 5.

On Saturday, 3 April, Prince Henrik and Queen Margrethe traveled to Nanjing on a high-speed rail.

In Nanjing the Royal Couple attended on Sunday, April 27 the opening of the conference "Sustainable Urbanisation" on Jinling Hotel.

Subsequently, the royal couple visited the Memorial Hall of the Nanjing Massacre.

In the afternoon, The royal couple visited the Humble Administrator's Garden. During the visit, the Royal Couple was given a tour of the garden.

In Jiaxing, the Royal Couple visited LEGO, where the Queen among others unveiled the foundation stone for LEGO's new factory in Jiaxing.

Today, the Royal Couple took part in a Sino-Danish Innovation and Investment Seminar at The Peninsula Hotel. The Prince Consort gave the keynote address.

The Queen visited the exhibition "Danish Design Days". The exhibition includes Danish design and lifestyle.

Crown Princess Mary at the Copenhagen Fashion Summit.

On Thursday, April 24, Crown Princess Mary gave a speech at the opening of the Copenhagen Fashion Summit 2014.
I would also like to extend a warm welcome to Copenhagen. 
2014 is a special year for Copenhagen, as it has been awarded the prestigious European Green Capital Award by the European Commission.  Why? Because the city excels in combining sustainable solutions with growth and quality of life.  And because we are happy to share our knowledge and experiences with the rest of the world.  ‘Sharing Copenhagen’ is all about sharing good solutions.

Prince Carl Philip Runs "The Little Baby Race"

Today (April 26th 2014) Prince Carl Philip ran The Little Baby Race in Haga Park. The Race is to support neonatal research in Sweden.

The runners could choose to run five or six miles and there was a separate race for young children. The Prince who is patron of the Little Baby Fund ran 10 kilometers.

All proceeds from the race go to the Swedish neonatal research.

Danish State Visit to China - Day 2.

On the second day of the Danish State Visit to China, Queen Margrethe and Prince Henrik were present in the Danish-Chinese partnership conference "Sustainability in China and Denmark" in Diaoyutai State Guesthouse.

Crown Princess Victoria Visits The National Museum


Today (April 25th 2014) Crown Princess Victoria visited the National Museum and was given a guided tour by Superintendent Berndt Arell through the empty building which now faces an extensive renovation.



The National Museum in Stockholm closed in 2013 for refurbishment. The government ordered the renovation and refurbishment of the museum into a fully modern museum building which can adapt to the 
future of museum operations while retaining heritage values ​​in the unique listed building museum building.

Crown Princess Mary at the Research Festival in Nordkraft, Aalborg.

Danish State Visit to China - Day 1.

Queen Margrethe II and Prince Henrik are on a state visit to China from 24 to 28th April 2014.

The State Visit main goal is to focus on the broad Danish-Chinese cooperation in areas such as energy and the environment, innovation, investment, transport, the maritime sector, health, food, and food safety and Danish design.

Crown Princess Mary Hosts Dinner for Members of the Sustainable Fashion Industry.

Yesterday, (April 23rd) Crown Princess Mary hosted a dinner for sustainable fashion leaders at Frederik VIII's Palace in Amalienborg in honor of the Copenhagen Fashion Summit. Crown Prince Frederik attended too.

Prince Daniel visited SKF and Rut & Circle

Yesterday (April 22nd 2014) Prince Daniel visited the industrial company SKF and the fashion company Rut & Circle in Gothenburg.



The visit began at SKF where Prince Daniel was a presentation of the company's history, and their current situation, the work in Göteborg and international business. The prince also took part in SKF's interactive exhibit showing uses for their products, such as wind turbines, ships and automobiles. At SKF Manufacturing Development Centre, Prince Daniel received demonstration of their future projects.



After SKF Prince Daniel visited Rut & Circle, the founder Caroline Hjelt is a part of Prince Daniel's Fellowship and entrepreneurship programs. Rut & Circle started in 2007 and has a turnover of approx. 100 million. The brand is represented with several concept stores, and at over 300 retailers throughout Scandinavia and Europe.

Crown Princess Victoria Attends Conference on Population

Today (April 23rd, 2014), Sweden's Crown Princess took part in an international parliamentary conference on population held in the Swedish parliament. Subsequently, the Crown Princess met with Babatunde Osotimehin, head of the UN Population Fund, at the Royal Palace.

The conference in Stockholm is the sixth in the series. The aim is to follow up the action plan for population issues adopted in Cairo in 1994. Cairo Programme emphasizes the goal to strengthen women's influence in the world.

Around 300 people from 150 countries, including ministers, parliamentarians and representatives of civil society, are attending the conference which takes place from April 23rd to April 25th in Stockholm.

150th anniversary of the Battle of Dybbøl .

Queen Margrethe, Prince Henrik, Prince Joachim and Princess Marie participated today on the events to mark the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Dybbøl .


The Battle of Dybbøl's anniversary was marked by a number of activities involving the royal couple and TRH Prince Joachim and Princess Marie.

Queen Margrethe, Prince Henrik and Prince Joachim layed wreaths on warrior graves at Dybbøl where the lost are commemorated with a military ceremony.

They also participated on a civil ceremony at Skansen Kong with speeches by the Queen, Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt, the German ambassador to Denmark and Minister President of Schleswig-Holstein and cultural features, inter alia, Sønderjysk Choir and folkBALTICA Ensemble and Helene Blum & Harald Haugaard Band.

Queen Margrethe's 74th Birthday.

Queen Margrethe II turned 74 yesterday, and -as always- the Royal Family accompanied her on this special day. As the residence changed to Marselisborg Palace on 11 April, there wasn't celebrations at Amalienborg Square, but that didn't stop all the joy. The family went out Marselisborg's terrace to greet the people who gathered there since 11AM.
